Looking for a wedding celebrant in North Yorkshire who will create a ceremony that feels completely yours? I’m Diana, a qualified independent celebrant based near Scarborough and Whitby, creating personalised Wedding, Blessing, Civil Partnership, Vow Renewal, Commitment, Naming or other ceremonies across North Yorkshire and beyond.

Traditional or unique

Your ceremony can be as simple or as creative as you wish. You might exchange personal vows and rings, include readings or music, remember loved ones who cannot be there or involve family and friends. I can also write a personal wedding poem especially for you. You may wish to include a symbolic element such as handfasting, ring warming, a sand ceremony, or loving cup. These traditions can be adapted so that they have meaning for you rather than simply being included for the sake of it.

I take time to get to know your story and what matters most to you, creating a warm, personal ceremony you and your guests will remember. You can choose any venue, such as one of the many beautiful North Yorkshire wedding venues, but you can also choose your garden, woodland, the beach or another meaningful location, subject to the permission and requirements of the venue or landowner of course.

First, did you know that, in England, the legal requirements for marriage are very short and simple and so it can cost very little to make your marriage official? Once that’s taken care of, your Celebrant-led wedding ceremony can take place anywhere and be far more personal and meaningful. While a Celebrant can’t conduct the legalities, the legal part is quick and inexpensive (£68 with 2 witnesses at a local register office – often called a “2+2”) and can be completed separately, often a couple of days before. After that, your bespoke wedding ceremony has no restrictions in wording or framework. Choose to keep things traditional or include extra special elements and enjoy a personalised wedding ceremony that truly reflects your story.
